Ed McLaughlin served 25 years on the BCET Board Past Trustee, Ed McLaughlin, served a total of 25 years on the Beaver County Educational Board. He was ask by the original founders, Dick Shaw and Bob Smith, to serve as a board member back in 1992. His mission then was simply to support the fledgling organization and education in Beaver County as a whole. The BCET was an off shoot of a more localized effort in Beaver and Ed wanted to see it succeed. Even though education was not an area that the property manager and real estate broker had any expertise, he wanted to understand more and help in anyway he could. Freshly added trustee, Karen Hatton-Mihalic joined the BCET to give voice to her fellow educators. With her many years of teaching in the Beaver Area School District, she believes she is the right person for the job. Further, she hopes to continue bridging the gap of education to work for Beaver County students. It is no wonder, her favorite BCET program is Beaver County Works #STEMSTRONG, which aims to inform at risk students about skills needed for current local career paths.

Joseph L. Rubino joins the BCET board of trustees after a career of 40 years in education, with his last employment at the BVIU. Mr. Rubino wanted to continue his support of teachers and students of Beaver County after retiring and saw the board position as an opportunity to do just that. His favorite BCET program is the Great Idea Mini-Grant. His team received a grant for the "Brain Steps" program his team at the IU created on concussions a few years back. The award left an impression on Joe and so he was eager to help when asked by the BCET.

Just added trustee, Daniel Rossi-Keen did the unthinkable in 2012. He opened an independently owned bookstore, calling the endeavor E-Quip Books. Dr. Keen wants it to be the keystone to reviving a downtrodden Aliquippa community. The name is unique as it is a play on location, Aliquippa, the items it sells and the goal of the business. When asked about joining the BCET board, he had this to say, "I am excited about the future of education in Beaver County, and I respect the work that BCET is doing to contribute to educational excellence throughout our region. Freshman trustee, Jim Masterson, brings a wealth of business acumen to the BCET. He is the current Director of Operations at ARDEX and works out of the Hopewell site.  With a great understanding of operations from the manufacturing world, Jim hopes to align the BCET's processes with the goals of the organization. Upon joining the board of trustees, he had this to say, "I enjoy working and living in Beaver County and I see this as an opportunity to contribute to this community.  A strong education system is vital to the success of any community and I am looking forward to supporting and enhancing the work being done by the BCET."
