What is it like to have dyslexia? How does it affect your daily life? This simulation allows participants to experience some of the challenges and frustrations faced by people with this language-based learning disability.
The Simulation begins with a brief discussion of dyslexia, including the neurological basis, the demographics, the warning signs, and the interventions which have been shown, through solid research, to have positive impact. It consists of six learning stations that present different language-related learning tasks encountered in the classroom or workplace. And it ends with a panel discussion that includes, parents, students, teachers and professionals to help answer your questions.

“Being a teacher, I was able to gain a better understanding of the level of frustration students experience while reading, writing, and listening. The various simulations made me reflect on how I interact with students. I am more aware of how “good intentions” could cause students to feel sad, inferior, and anxious.”
“I had an intellectual understanding of what dyslexia is but going through the simulation enabled me to feel and experience the emotional and psychological impact that my daughter lives with every day.”
