Apply Now for 2021-22 STORY-Walk Grant

Story Walk is a unique and enjoyable opportunity for children and families to share creative and engaging reading experiences, as well as related art and musical activities, planned and presented by their teachers and funded by grants from the Beaver County Educational Trust. Each school has its own story theme, with teachers or staff members reading stories to small groups of children. The groups walk from room to room to hear stories or create a craft project or listen to music all related to the basic theme. Participants include not only the children, but moms, dads, grandparents and even younger siblings. Each child who attends, pre-K through grade 4, receives a book to take home. Freedom Goes Around the World in 180 Minutes

Freedom 2018 Story-Walk Video Freedom Area School District held it's 2018 Story-Walk on March 1, 2018 at Freedom Elementary School. Around 200 student attendees were treated to stories from global destinations such as Ireland, England, China, Japan, Italy, Mexico, Kenya, and Egypt. In each country the children got to listen to a story about that country, make a craft, play a game and eat a snack that represented the country. Many of the teachers had traveled to those countries and were able to share stories and souvenirs from the countries.  Every child that attended received a book about a different country.
