Caitlyn Bajgier, a teacher in the Ambridge School District, was named co-winner of the inaugural BCET Beaver County Teacher of the Year award in 2017. Her name was submitted to the PA Teacher of the Year committee along with her co-winner Ellie Taraborrelli from Beaver Area School District. Mrs. Bajgier has been selected as a Semi-Finalist for PA Teacher of the Year by the state committee. The BCET would like to congratulate Mrs. Bajgier on making it through the first round selection process and wish her luck in the semi-finals.

Bill DiBenedetto's efforts to help the students of Beaver County over a long, fulfilling career stand as an inspiration to all those that care about the next generation of students. May those closest to him take solace in the fact that many students of Beaver County benefitted from his tireless efforts in education. He will be missed.

For more than 20 years, Beaver County Educational Trust has awarded mini-grants to area teachers to launch innovative classroom projects or expand curriculum that otherwise might not develop because of limited school budgets. The Beaver County Educational Trust was recently recognized for its transparency with a Gold Seal on the BCET GuideStar Nonprofit Profile! GuideStar is the world’s largest source of information on nonprofit organizations. More than 8 million visitors per year and a network of 200+ partners use GuideStar data to grow support for nonprofits. In order to get the Gold Seal, the Beaver County Educational Trust shared important information with the public using its profile on www.guidestar.org.
