Our project is focused on providing Opportunities/Exposure/Engagement of our teenagers here at Hopewell High School. We strongly feel that our students need of exposure to innovative methods to address overall health, wellness and nutrition. Implementing these initiatives will counter the effects of screen time and sedentary lifestyles of many of our teenagers. Our goal is to provide opportunities that will inspire and empower our teens to develop a healthy lifestyle that will jettison them into their future. LLS Pulls off the Hat-Trick

Lincoln Learning Solutions, a Rochester-based, nonprofit, education management foundation, pulled off a wonderful hat-trick with its third and final $15,000 donation to the "Growing with Books" program. The most resent installment represents the last in a 3 year commitment of total commitment of $45,000. Through Growing with Books, Beaver County children five and younger receive a free book by mail in the spring and fall. The program is a collaboration between the Beaver County Educational Trust, the Beaver County Rehabilitation Center and the Heritage Valley Health System. Growing with Books—based on the principle that reading is the essence of learning—has distributed more than 28,000 books since inception.

Dr. Roger Davis is the current President of Community College of Beaver County and recently joined the BCET board of trustees. He brings with him a true gift for educating and leadership demonstrated by a long CV that includes many honors and awards. The most notable being the Humanitarian of the Year bestowed by ACT, Inc. of Rockland County, NY. He hopes to use his connections to the Beaver County community to further the goals of the BCET. The BCET trustees would like to wish him a warm welcome and are honored to now count Dr. Davis as a member.

Bruce Fleming moved back to Beaver County after attending Columbia University in NY. He found work with Bovard-Anderson in Beaver upon his return. Mr. Fleming joined the board back in 2016 at the urging of his employer, Ed McLaughlin, who served for over 25 years. Married to a Beaver Area School District teacher, Bruce has an intimate connection to the needs of local teachers. He sits on both the marketing committee and the fundraising committee and has been instrumental in increasing donations to the organization. The BCET counts itself lucky to have him as a trustee.
